About the Sallmann - Bach relation ship
Claus father, Emil Ludwig, started to study genealogy quite a while ago. During his search he found an interesting story in 1967:
In the booklet No. 2 of the "Swabian Homeland (Schwaebische Heimat)" from June 1967 he found the following essay.
"Out of the musical life in the old town of Oehringen".
The essay describes that Johann Heinrich Bach (a nephew of Johann Sebastian Bach) married twice. The second marriage he became father 9 times (the first one was childless). Just two of them survived. His daughter Dorothea Sophia Wilhelmine Bach married Preceptor Gottfried Sallmann in November 29, 1774. He worked like his father-in- law as an organist in the church of Oehringen. Both of them were competent composers, but none of their works are available.
